🎹 Audio Brewers – This Is Not a Piano

“This Is Not a Piano” isn’t your typical sample library—it’s a boundary-breaking sonic experiment that turns the piano into an organic resonator for mind-bending sound design. Created by Audio Brewers in collaboration with Cinematic Alpha, this innovative library uses DOVInst technology to project custom-crafted sounds into a real piano, letting its strings and body resonate naturally.

The result? A hybrid cinematic instrument that merges electronic textures with authentic acoustic depth—perfect for ambient composers, film scorers, experimental producers, and anyone ready to explore unheard dimensions of sound. 🌌

🔥 Key Features:

🎧 20 Articulations – From shimmering drones to percussive impacts, all captured through the piano’s body itself
🎹 True Pedal Resonance – Press the sustain pedal and hear the natural bloom of real harmonic interaction
🔀 Independent Layers – Separate “Sustain” and “Pedal Down” layers give you total control for creative sound blending
🎼 Real Keystroke Sounds – Add an organic, tactile feel to synthetic sources
🌐 Ambisonics + Stereo – Fully immersive recordings for 3D sound design, surround mixes, VR, or stereo formats

🧪 The Method Behind the Magic:

Instead of sampling piano notes, Audio Brewers did the opposite—they played non-piano sounds through a piano using multiple monitors. Every vibration, every harmonic, every resonance was captured using:
🎙️ High-end mics (4× AKG 414 + 4× C451B)
🎚️ Multi-position pedal recordings (half-pedal & full-pedal)
🌌 Ambisonic technology for spatially rich realism

It’s an entirely new way of using a piano—not as an instrument, but as a living sound chamber.

🎯 Perfect For:

🎬 Film & Game Composers – Craft eerie ambiances, emotional textures, and surreal sonic beds
🎛️ Ambient & Experimental Producers – Push the boundaries of tone and space
🎹 Hybrid Sound Designers – Blend organic and digital in unprecedented ways
🎧 Spatial Audio Artists – Fully compatible with immersive formats like Atmos, VR, and 360°
