Berlin Woodwinds
Soloists 2
4 expressive solo instruments for the lower registers. An
elegant bassoon, a rare bass oboe, a bass flute, and a bass
clarinet—all wonderfully playable with a close, intimate sound.
Define your sound
Sonically, these instruments are designed to be flexible: Clear and defined on their own, responsive to external reverb, and the perfect complement to the ensembles in our Berlin Woodwinds main library.
Playable and expressive
Each of the players is a true soloist—from Paul-Gregor Straka on the bassoon to Sabine Kaselow on the bass oboe. And you can channel these performances easily—three legato modes let you play fluid melody lines, while still offering plenty of scope for detailed editing later.
The soloists for your ensemble
These solo instruments complement the ensembles in the Berlin Woodwinds main collection. The up-front, intimate sound of the solo instruments sits well with the more spacious ensemble sound of the main room, while at the same time giving the soloists the spotlight they deserve. We’ve taken great care to make sure that playability, techniques, and levels are consistent across all Berlin Woodwinds—in fact, across the whole Berlin Series.
